Twenty-twenty marks the seventh year these police officers hit the beat with blue lights on Christmas to serve in a different light!
Each Christmas these off-duty patrol officers team up to give gifts donated by the community to children in neighborhoods they serve day in and day out. These officers gear up with their patrol cars stuffed to the brim and convoy looking for the most special children on Santa’s list!
“There is something so special about the spirit of giving at Christmas. Our mission allows officers to connect with the community through giving.” Noel – LEO Santa
This year, the usual team of Greenville County Sheriff Deputies have joined forces with the City of Greenville Police Department plus the South Carolina Highway Patrol to make all of the stops on Santa’s list this year! The convoy will begin on Sunday, December 20th around 1pm for a tour around Greenville County and City, so look out for “a blue light christmas” in a neighborhood near you!
Greenville LEO Santa tells us there may be even more unexpected stops on the list! We will leave those a surprise! Local law enforcement says that their only mission on this day is to experience the joy of the holiday at hand. If they ride by a home with a trampoline or a toy in the yard, they know there is a child inside who would love to have a toy from their stuffed patrol car.
The response has been overwhelming this year. We have been surprised since it has been such a hard year, but the spirit of giving is very much alive in Greenville, South Carolina this year!
We are still taking gift donations to any of our participating drop-off locations until Friday, December 18,th at 3pm.
If you’d like to make a paid donation, just follow our links on our website!
